Debenhams Window Display

For Debenhams’ flagship store in the heart of London, the designer envisioned more than just bold signage and decorative props. The concept was to transform the storefront into a vintage‑style superstore, filled with imaginary food products that would spark curiosity and nostalgia. The display needed to feel immersive, playful, and true to the designer’s creative vision. Pabrico was brought in to help bring this imaginative world to life.

The initial concept relied heavily on flat, 2D printed backdrops and products. While visually striking, the design lacked depth and impact. To elevate the display, the designer needed a way to introduce three‑dimensional elements that could complement the printed graphics without overwhelming the overall composition.

Pabrico stepped in to create hundreds of imaginary products and signs, all crafted from polystyrene. Each piece was carefully cut, shaped, and painted to colour‑match the bold printed faces supplied by the client. By introducing polystyrene, we added a tactile, 3D quality that gave the backdrop dimension and made the products feel more lifelike.

Because the designer provided cut‑ready artwork and printed faces, our role was focused on precision execution, ensuring every polystyrene element seamlessly integrated into the larger display.

Though our contribution was just one part of a much bigger installation, the polystyrene elements played a crucial role in bringing the designer’s vision to life. The 3D products and signage added vibrancy and realism, transforming what could have been a flat, static display into a dynamic showcase that captured attention on one of London’s busiest shopping streets.
