In 2015, EPS was commissioned to replicate two 6‑metre Aristocrat logos for a local sign company. The client wanted the logos suspended above their exhibition stand, with each letter appearing to float in mid‑air.
To achieve this effect, we devised a solution using clear acrylic poles inserted through sections of the logos. These poles not only held the letters securely together but also provided multiple hanging points. Each letter was produced individually, then laid face‑down on our machines for precision cutting of the holes required for the acrylic supports.
The sides and rear of each letter were painted with two coats of light blue, while the faces were finished in dark blue to match the Aristocrat branding. Assembly involved carefully threading the acrylic poles through each letter, measuring and adjusting the gaps to ensure perfect spacing.
For suspension, we drilled and crimped 4 metres of 1mm braided steel wire at seven points across each logo. Prior to packing, the logos were divided into three sections for ease of transport.
The result was a striking installation that combined engineering precision with visual impact, delivering the floating effect exactly as envisioned.
